Yes of course- you're right.
A big factor in how bad that will be is inflation. If we have no inflation/deflation, your scenario could well bring about the death of market capitalism (right now its just in intensive care.) But if we have a normal cycle, it could very well be that future (inflated)investment dollars may replace current ones easily- especially since all of those silver foxes just got herded into bonds yielding 3's and 4's.

Fact is, we're on the brink of government sponsored inflation.
