Shorting doesn't work well for me either. "I am simply nopt very good at bopping, got to admit that." A year or so ago I looked at my long versus short positions, one a net gain, the other a net loss and decided to stop shorting on that basis.
Most traders think that making money shorting is 3-5 times harder than going long although I'm aware of no data on that point. The other problem is that the few low brainers are usually crowded with shorts and getting a borrow can be impossible.
I may or may not short stocks again (probably will) but only when I see a fat pitch drift right over the plate. Want to have the market/sector/ trending down and some overpriced troubled company like kkd falling off a cliff.
