DHB Industries Subsidiary Point Blank Body Armor to Supply Bulletproof Vest Components


WESTBURY, N.Y. (AP) -- DHB Industries Inc., a maker of bullet-resistant vests, on Wednesday said its Point Blank Body Armor subsidiary received a $14.4 million order from a U.S. military contractor.
The order calls for DHB to supply components compatible with "interceptor outer tactical" vests, which protect against some bullets and shrapnel. Production and delivery begin this month.

DHB did not disclose the buyer's name.

Shares of DHB rose 13 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $4.98 in morning trading on the American Stock Exchange.
