Are they not called the "General Partners"? They get paid well, often better. If you follow Carl Icahn in this space his MLP refiner just announced .30 for the unit holders and .75 for the GP (CVI). LOL because CVI was at 72 in May before it dropped 50%! Two rich special dividends since Feb totaling $12 should have raised a red flag there. Chart is a ski hill this year! They claim it's entering oversold territory now... gee I wonder why?
The future is cloudy for the refiners now with the crack spread for Dec being nil.

I just got my distribution yesterday on the largest pipeline co. and they have no general partner.... they pay a sustainable rising distribution, albeit 4-6% over the last few years. They look boring until you see the long term chart...
My new epiphany is that the variable refiners are strictly for swing trading. I will reposition all the money before year end. GLTA!
