Yes, he was right that the wording was unclear but how do you interpret this part of the abstract?

The four (22%) CR patients experienced reversal of BM fibrosis and recovery of normal megakaryocyte morphology


By your standards it should perhaps be: The four (22%) CR patients based on BM and peripheral blood morphologic criteria experienced reversal of BM fibrosis and recovery of normal megakaryocyte morphology
