Geo, pharma will keep plenty busy and highly profitable treating and curing cancer. There are over 7 billion people on this planet today, and they are still being born more than twice as fast as they are dying.

Maybe a psychopath with no emotional capacity for empathy, or somebody without good friends, parents, children or grandchildren that they cherish would feel that way, but I suspect that would account for a very limited group of people.

I, certainly, would rather see an end to the suffering that comes from cancer. Someone could be cured of one indication like breast cancer, then years later be struck down by another totally different indication.

Every time a cell in our body divides, there is a chance of a genetic abnormality occurring. The longer people live, the more cell division occurs. That means the chances of having cancer increases with age. There will be no shortage of patients for the pharma industry.

I, personally, really don't think people who develop medicines want to avoid curing disease so they can make their money by keeping patients on a maintenance infusion.
