Hi Tenchu: I'm always on the lookout for new and helpful T/A terms. [I coined the term Hook-the-Schnook-rally.] Just recently on this thread I've repeatedly heard the term "snorter." I went to my dictionary: nothing. So I did what I always do when I'm perplexed. I stood on my head and meditated. Eureka! I kept hearing "rip-snorter." But what the hell was a rip-snorter? So I asked my trading partner Dortmunder. He told me that "snorter" referred to a rip-snorting rally. "But dortmunder," I cried, "isn't "powerful rally" or "strong rally" the same thing?" "Indeed," he said. But, Tenchu, back to the nub of your question: "How do snorters lose their snort?" The answer my dear fellow is simple; snorts are lost the same way anything is lost; one forgets where one placed it. Try looking under your sofa cushions. If you don't find your snort I promise you'll find a few quarters, dimes and other items that have been missing. Or ask your wife. Around my way Suzy goes through my pockets all the time. If I had a snort in a shirt or pants pocket, she'd take it. I'm glad I could be of help.
