Why do they need to do another clinical trial? Its been shown 45mg is very effective but has long term safety issue. For people who have no other choices, the overall survival being on the drug is still better than developing a lethal heart attack 2 years down the line. And the company has shown that you need at least 30mg to achieve 40nm of blood concentration to suppress the mutation. Unless the company intends to go first line there is no need to do another trial to prove lower dose has better safety outcome.
