I don't think you aren't looking at all the elements, ng. It's simple practical physics. Sometimes when two forces are actively engaged, a third force is left free to act on it's own accord.

If this administration plays this as wrong-mindedly and ineptly as they have in Iraq, I believe you can kiss all your worries about a comfy retirement goodbye. It may unleash a chain reaction of events hereto unknown to us.
If what is being said is true and Iran has been planning to truly generate a defensive nuclear program for themselves, much that program is probably is well underground. They learnt a lesson from Iraq and Israel's little tussle the first time around. The U.S and Israel would have to act with such decisive force as to disrupt Iran's entire chain of command. That it would unDOUBTABLY require a nuclear option to truly make a difference.
Iran is a proud nation. It's armies are not as coerced as Iraq's were. Furthermore, people fighting for their OWN territory and survival are a lot more motivated.
Do you HONESTLY think any radioactive fallout that might happen would settle well with China as it falls on their western provinces? Do you really think Russia is going to standby & see it's investment in Iran smashed to smithereens and Iran become another pro-Western puppet government in our binge for cheap oil?
I think we have set ourselves up for a bad situation. I think we are being tricked in to making a very poor move.
Who the hell is going to fund this war? Who is going to man it? Are we going to pump out more fiat currency and watch the world economy pull away from the rapidly devaluating dollar at such an alarming rate?
