That divergence was, imo, caused by NEM's early day 2006 lowered production/profit warning and subsequent downgrades by a couple of fairly PM conscious brokerage houses.

Personally, I would never short against such a strong uptrend, but if you survived today's higher opening and 50 point run, you may yet come out OK. Here's hoping....
