Well i think what they do is use the console (dissappointing to here about direct email not being quick...i'll test both tomorrow) to try weed out the crappy questions and then if it gets to a point where a phone is needed they will ask the person to contact the number to speak to a represnetative. THis saves money. In business the less you waste the more you earn.
And i'm pretty sure the phone company won't budge. Its like walking up to a gas station and saying " you know what..thats just too much, let's work out a deal." they will tell you where to go.
