there is a suspicion new fire from lightening strikes last night .. with the temperature rising .. this is one of the very worst ever in NSW .. i don't know if you saw it in one of the videos, but a head firefighter guy here said we had the best firefighters in the world .. i cringed, hate that kind of hyperbole as it's so unfair .. guess under the circumstances he wanted to say something encouraging, but he could have said 'as good as any'.

DD, i've never seen anything like the fires here now .. many more are getting out .. the
wind here in Sydney has picked up heaps .. some 140km (87miles) from Sydney that one ..

.. just now an emergency warning for the Springwood fire in the Blue Mountains where
they were so bad yesterday .. it's a very sad time, the fires and so many other things ..
