It's like Ihub was a forum board first and information was available to click on if you wanted. Now its maybe going the other way where crap and ads are the main bulk and you have to dig around for a forum board. Just like yafool and other cold, ad cluttered sites.
Personally, I believe the advfn deal was good for Ihub personal and owners, but killed the 'old family feel'. The site's been going downhill since the buy out. Of course admin wouldn't or couldn't agree at all with that.
It's profitable progress at the cost of factored in loss percentage. Businesses do it every day. As long as the bottom line hits the pockets of advfn. Sorry, but I think London has a lot more say in what goes on over this side of the pond.
