I am not sure what your point is. Frist is a well respected medical doctor, a heart surgeon, and his father was the same. His family founded HCA and are still primary stockholders, so it is hardly unusual that HCA would be a large contributor. Vanderbilt University has a highly regarded medical school and is a leading teaching hospital in Nashville, so contributions from them is hardly unusual either. I suspect that if you had a complete list of his donations, it would have a lot of medical related corporations, doctors, and similar sources on it.

Surely you are not suggesting that somehow Frist knew back in 1996 (or later) that HealthSouth was crooked.
