It seems as if rape of children, women and men in any country is not primary importance. I do remember in ancient history . .that it seems that 'rich ruling men?' ... . had little boys and it was most acceptable ... I also read that in the Muslim religion also ... and then of course we remember the Afghan Dancing Boys ... . now, I was very very young when I took this ancient history class... and to me at that time it was just a YUK! ... and turn my face away .. and so did everyone else .. we NEVER discussed it! .... And further I don't even know if it was even a reputable ancient history book .
it reminds me of rape all over the world .... it's happening all the time in every country ... and I quite sure little boys and little girls are being raped every three minutes or more .. who knows? ..... and people seem to accept this violence or perhaps we are overwhelmed by it ... . .no one does anything about it really .. to change ... maybe it's too big a problem? And no one knows how to change it .... . they say those rapes in India .. will not change a darn thing .... who knows .. .it's just all so depressing .... it's time for me to 'turn my face away . .now' ........;) .. Just kidding ... just kidding .... I don't like dealing with things that I'm not able to do anything about ... it just causes anxiety and frustration and then depression and the thought of trying to make it change or hell, even STOP! ... . seems to be futile.
I don't think this is just a 'Catholic' issue, BUT, Catholic is what we are talking about right now ..however, I believe it is a 'Societal' issue ... all over the world ... maybe even something deeper ... .. as it appears that the majority are all appeased somehow ...Public Hangings, anyone?
Now we have internet pedophilia .. we can buy the child online ... or make arrangements or whatever or how they do it ... I remember reading about when Kurt Eichenwald got caught up in it .. he was trying to help a child (male young .. like 12 or something don't remember all the details ) and somehow he came out being the bad guy .... that spelling isn't correct .. all I remember is that he is a writer, he has written for the nyt, and maybe all over .. and on staff at Vanity Fair .. ( I think he's on staff .. ;) )
