Omni Energy Expects Fiscal 2006 Revenue to Rise 70 Percent, Shares Surge

CARENCRO, La. (AP) -- Omni Energy Services Corp. said Tuesday it expects a 70 percent increase in fiscal 2006 sales on the back of recent seismic drilling projects, anticipated revenue for its environmental services unit and its pending acquisition of Preheat.

Revenue should exceed $75 million with net income coming in at or above $5 million.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA, for 2006 could exceed $15 million, excluding $10 million in non-cash costs for depreciation and amortization.

Omni Energy's seismic drilling backlog now exceeds $40 million. Drilling revenue tends to be seasonal, Chairman and Chief Executive James C. Eckert noted, with the second and third quarter garnering the most sales.

The stock soared 10 percent, picking up 36 cents to $3.92 on the Nasdaq, where it has traded in a 52-week range of $1.21 to $4.98.
