Rambus (RMBS) is a provider of chip-to-chip interfaces and services.

The second-quarter results include $3.3 million in contract revenue, up 90% from the same period last year. Royalty revenue rose 14% to $24.8 million. Costs and expenses increased by $4.7 million from last year because of increases in litigation costs, research and development costs and the cost of contract revenue.

Litigation expenses rose due to Rambus' antitrust case in front of the Federal Trade Commission. The FTC has filed a complaint versus Rambus regarding its patents for high-speed memory chips.

Rambus' shares closed Monday up 2.1%, or 32 cents, at $15.76.
