imo, anyone who thinks we can make a difference in Syria, and in the mid-East in general, is naive.
John McCain's argument to strike Syria is that if we don't the U.S. will lose all credibility...The U.S. has ALREADY lost credibility and nothing proved that more than the British Parliament's vote last week to reject David Cameron's plea to support the U.S. strike on Syria, saying "the well of trust was broken in Iraq". I believe Iraq was the straw that broke the camel's back; the U.S. has always been quick to use it's military might in the mid-East, and it's catching up with us.
Yes, using chemical weapons on human being is deplorable but how about the Sudan where thousands upon thousands of people have been dying for years and the U.S. does nothing - or how about the 100,000 Syrian rebels killed by Assad and the U.S. did nothing.
I join with 60% of Americans of both pol parties - 6 out of 10 - and 66% of Independents, per a WashPost/ABC poll, who say the U.S. should stay out of Syria.
