... The People's Choice ...

Gone are days of dreaming you can enjoy cannabis freely without prosecution. Gone are the days of feeling hopeless when a loved one only has a chemotherapy death sentence to turn to. Gone are the decades worth of reefer madness propaganda. Gone to Pot and we ain't seen nothing yet. I fully expect parts of MJNA to be sold off to trusted NCIA folks because I see us as a pseudo incubator think tank anyways. Why folks would be scared if industry insiders like Tripp Keber sell shares when he is extremely long on MJNA escapes me outside of the conspiracy theories that schizophrenics love to get all caught up in. The fact is Tripp has done huge things for this company and he is investing in the best projects out there as he helps reign in the new entrepreneurs that will benefit this industry and MJNA if you think otherwise than put your money on the line. Conspiracy theorist are folks that are too lazy to do due diligence which is why they never reference any of their source that backup their rhetoric. Drink Dixie and get real.

While a growing number of states mostly out West and up in New England are on a legalization path after the Department of Justice’s decision to shrug its shoulders at state regulation (as long as it doesn’t involve kids, the black market, or federal property), none of them so far are in the South, where bedrock Baptist morals still push, not always successfully, against the sin of intoxication. But look a little closer at Dixie’s denizens and one sees small but potent signs of a legalization groundswell, in part fueled by the South’s unique contributions to marijuana culture and prohibition. In Texas and all over the South, there are a lot Willie Nelson-style social and cultural “outlaw” attitudes, all of which overlap with Ron Paul libertarianism. “Everyone who profits from the drug war, from the prison industrial complex to violent cartels and street traffickers, is invested in maintaining the status quo,” writes Mr. Stamper on Friday, in the Huffington Post. - source

Removing some of these roadblocks and allowing banks to service the industry, even tacitly, would ease one of the biggest issues facing cannabis businesses. The DOJ announcement also could improve the funding climate considerably, encouraging investors who have been waiting on the sidelines to get involved and possibly even lowering interest rates. “The DOJ announcement is long overdue … however, our joy is tempered in that the new policy does not specifically apply to current civil enforcement actions,” Steve DeAngelo – executive director of Harborside Health Center, a prominent dispensary that the government has attacked on several fronts – said in a statement. “That means we are still facing crippling tax assessments, seizure of the properties where we are located, and denial of banking, credit card, security and armored car services. We hope that these and other federal efforts to impede our ability to operate as a legitimate business will be also be ended in the near future.” - source
