NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
Technology:
Eco-Rx (OTC Pink Sheets: ERXX) produces proprietary products utilizing high-intensity ultraviolet radiation (UVC) inside a "killing chamber" (a replaceable cartridge). The UV destroys airborne bacteria and viruses, de- activates allergens, spores and mold. Extensive independent testing by an EPA and FDA certified laboratory confirms that the unique technology kills airborne viruses and bacteria including: Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia. Anything with DNA or RNA is killed or neutralized. The machine does not produce or use ozone.
Eco-Rx combines its purification technology, a sophisticated electronic ballast system, with an electronic control module in a product that is totally effective and user-friendly. The technology uses a replaceable cartridge providing 12 months of continuous operation (24/7).
Electronic controls insure that the Eco-Rx product is completely effective during the life of the cartridge, allow performance monitoring of all major electrical components, simplify operation and endow the units with appropriate safety features. An indicator light provides information regarding the state of the cartridge and when a replacement is necessary.
During the summer of 2005, Intertek (ETL Semko) conducted complete electrical and safety testing. ETL is the world's largest testing organization and is similar to Underwriters Laboratory (UL).
We are unaware of any products that can replicate the results the Company's tests have demonstrated.
Situation:
Throughout the world, there is growing awareness of the increasingly poor quality of the air we breathe. The general public is aware of the dangers associated with outdoor air pollution, but never before has there been such growing public concern about the quality of indoor air. Today's lifestyles coupled with building and construction practices have created significant challenges to maintaining healthy indoor air.
Over the past decade, indoor air quality (IAQ) became one of the key environmental issues in the U.S. In 1995, the EPA initially declared poor IAQ as one of the top five health risks. This was based on a growing body of scientific research supporting the conclusion of the EPA (Doc. 402-K-93-007, 4/95) that "air inside homes and other buildings can be more seriously polluted than outdoor air." The World Health Organization estimates that 30% of all new buildings worldwide will suffer from poor IAQ. This is especially significant as people spend approximately 90% of their time inside buildings, increasing their health risk. Recent studies by the U.S. National Resources Council, the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Cancer Society suggest that, "more people die each year from causes attributable to particulate air pollution than are killed in car accidents."
Opportunity:
Based on independent research, the Company believes that the market for its air purification technology is huge with at least five distinct segments: medical, hospitality, commercial, agricultural and consumer.
Based on the sheer number of hospitals with their treatment suites, critical care areas, patient rooms along with doctors' and dentists' offices, nursing home rooms, etc., we believe the medical market for products using Eco-Rx's technology is very large. Commercially, there are over 5 million buildings, schools, day care centers, beauty salons, etc., in the U.S. alone. With the large number of offices, meeting rooms, cafeterias, etc., each building and business offers multiple placement possibilities. Additionally, the hospitality market segment presents a large potential demand.
Finally, as of 2003, there were over 109 million households in the U.S. All of these hold potential for the use of Eco-Rx, Inc.'s product. As a result, we estimate that the consumer market opportunity is very large.
The Company's first product, the RX400, is available for sale by the Allergy Buyers Club in their fall and winter catalog as a featured product as well as on the Internet at http://www.AllergyBuyersClub.com .
Background:
Eco-Rx, Inc. was established with the express purpose of developing proprietary purification technologies. The Company believes that its technology is the only one available, which quickly and safely kills over 99% of airborne germs. Additionally, it neutralizes pollen, mold spores, animal dander, dust mites, etc. An array of commercial and consumer products are planned. Future applications of the technology will include bird and animal breeding operations as well as water and food purification needs.
Eco-Rx's technology is protected by U.S. Utility Patent number 6,939,397. The PTO patent protection process is underway for key Pacific Rim countries and Europe. Additional applications are pending.
A goal for Eco-Rx is the continued development and application of its advanced technology to air purification products that make the indoor environment healthier. Eco-Rx makes a fundamental contribution to the health and well-being of all using its products.
Management:
Currently, the management of the Company includes: Paul F. Taccini, President and CEO, Joseph M. Peiken, CFO and co-founder, and Roger A. Nelsen, Sr. VP. For additional information, please visit us at: http://www.eco-rx.com .
