That's possible. I didn't catch that post. It IS a toss-up.

This Pro/Con list is nowhere near complete...mostly because I'm not sure exactly what services RackSpace provides.

RackSpace:
+ They take care of all server issues
+ Cheap (for the short term, anyway)
- No physical access to your servers (must connect through the internet)

Hosting your own:
+ Physical access to the servers
+ Complete control over servers (can install any other software you wish, etc.)
- Higher cost (purchasing/maintaining servers)
- Hire your own IT guy to maintain servers
