DesertDrifter -- a crown fire going through, or at least around, a stand would be a concern, right? -- are there current underbrush/undergrowth concerns at those stands, or are the stands big/tough enough that even a heavier ground fire might char/hurt the big trees a bit, but not critically?

just curious, sorry -- I take it the crown fires in the scree lands are not much of a concern because they're not likely to migrate as crown fires to the (different particular terrain[?] of the) stands? -- I think the fire is still some half-decent distance away, some number of miles that might hold up, where no doubt some considerable effort would be made to establish and hold a line (if they're not already directing some of their efforts at that)
