If history is any guide, Intel will be forced to adopt AMD's superior alternative, after a long, cash-draining, and evenutually unsucessful attempt to push their proprietary "standard" in an attempt to maintain their monopoly.

Like AMD's "Alive"? Or is it "Survive"? I can't remember.
