The odds say that 75% of the time Max Pain is TOUCHED sometime during expiry week.
It can deviate in any direction from there.
When there is no touch, and/or even after a touch delta hedging can send it flying in either direction.

The last 3 failures have all been on the high side if recollection serves me properly.

As of now, the way they are killing time premium, it would "suggest" that moves from here will not be huge.

That can change of course.
GE reports tomorrow, IBM or MSFT warning would likely have a huge negative affect. It would seem that the plan is to kill both or as much of the 25-26 QQQ options as possible.
