Your logic doesn't follow. It sounds more like your office buddies are desiring the performance of the G5, not the sole fact that it's 64-bit. If Apple offered a G4+ that had the performance of G5, I don't think your buddies would have any reason to complain.

On the other hand, Yonah's performance should even challenge the G5, even without 64-bit, and it will fit perfectly in T&L laptops.
