T_F_N: I still maintain, this is the conundrum I see Netflix is in regarding offering games...
They are with Best Buy and so is GameFly. I would think that as long as GameFly is with Best Buy, Best Buy would strongly urge Netflix to NOT offer games since it would be instore competition that would surely put many nails in GameFly's coffin - and as far as I see, they don't even have a coffin built yet. The demise to them would be swift, IMO.
Also, how would that look for BestBuy, allowing one of their own, successful service offerings to be squashed in-store like that in front of everybody's eyes? I think that would shy away new future service offering companies from wanting to put themselves in that positition and they might just go straight for a possible CC partnership instead, further giving CC a chance to pull ahead of BB.
Better for them (Netflix), IMO, would be to buy GameFly outright. But will they do it? That's the question. After that, it would be an even match as far as the CC/BB battle goes. Right now (and if it lasts the whole year as is), CC will have the upper hand in this fight w/ GameznFlix.
