Let me explain a few examples.

Try the EDIG board. There is a group there that wants to be off by itself and talk about EDIG, without the interference of Cassandra, But Anyway and maybe a few others. Currently, we don't offer any way for a group to fire up in a truly private group and exclude members. Most/all other sites offer this functionality.

Should we?

The IDCC board. Same story, different characters.

Both aren't a matter of wanting to scam people, pump the stock, etc as some on the boards try to portray. Quite the contrary. It's the same concept for the Interent -- they are a like-minded group that wish to discuss. Sure, there is the occassional whack job pumper that is just as annoying as the basher, but for the most part, people just hate to be harassed by folks who have no interest in what they are talking about, hence the like-minded idea.

The question is, should we force, as we always have, EVERYBODY who wishes to talk about a specific equity into one forum, or should we recognize there is an obvious demand for specific, small groups to discuss very specific interests, even specific equities in very small groups.

Is it right? Would it work? Does it create another problem?
