"we should stop killing people around the world "
"we should follow the examples of Jesus, his son,"
--true Christians do not kill people --
John 13:35 - King James Version (KJV)
35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
Romans 12:17-21 --King James Version (KJV)
17 " Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
Christendom was involved in killing one another in 2 world wars --
while genuine Christians remained neutral and were persecuted and put to death by the waring nations--they followed Jesus example and commands --they were similarly treated by communist nations --
and to this day some are still persecuted and some put to death for their Christian neutrality worldwide--
Matthew 24:9 --King James Version (KJV)
9 "Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake."
There is a vast difference between nominal Christians and those exemplifying Christ Jesus to the best of their ability--
Matthew 7:18-23 --King James Version (KJV)
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
1 Timothy 4:1,2--King James Version (KJV)
1. "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2. Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"
Colossians 2:8 --King James Version (KJV)
8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."
2 Timothy 4:2-5--King James Version (KJV)
2 "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry."
