Possibly you are right! I certainly get the feeling AMD are just dipping their toes in and getting experience with their first ARM chip rather than fully committing. But then again I thought Microsoft were testing the water and seeing what was really needed when Windows RT came out, I never guessed they'd waste a load of money on producing lots of them.

The display and GPU used with the Intel chip were not of the same class and the display eats a lot of power. It does show the A15 as having problems which I guess explains why there are alternative designs out there now. Since then the ARM designs have improved and have a clear power advantage but Intel will I guess win that for a while at least with Bay Trail. It is something to think about though when they talk about low power Haswell being needed to compete effectively.
