Broadband prices have dropped a lot in my area in the past year. I can get 700Kbit/second DSL for $15.95 per month (12 month introductory offer, but I do not expect it to increase that much afterwards). That is quite a bit cheaper than a lot of the dial-up 56Kbit/second connections now (AOL $22 per month).

On top of that Verizon just laid FIOS (big fat fiber) through my neighborhood. The low end of 5Mbit/second is to cost $35 per month. I think the 5 Mbit per second is plenty capacity to use VOD.

IMO, the number of broadband connections will be growing by leaps and bounds in the very near future.
