If we reach a point where anyone approved to possess confidential information/military operations can share that over the Internet because THEY disagree with what the gov't is doing, we're all in trouble. My guess is Manning's fellow-soldiers didn't appreciate him sharing confidential military operations with Wikileaks and putting their lives in danger.
Both Manning and Snowden claim to have given Wikileaks confidential gov't info "for the good of the nation"...When Wikileaks gets all the info these two naive guys have to give up, they'll be on their own.
