Trend, although this may step on some Roman toes, do understand that the Pope is NOT God. The Pope's comment represents one man's perspective and interpretation of God's Word (He divinely inspired it's writing - with that I am confident the Pope would agree). The fact that the Pope holds a perspective that contradicts the bible is one thing. For anyone to give any significance is yet another. Just because someone of renown makes a statement that suggests their personal conviction (Obama comes to mind regarding his "rethinking" homosexual marriage)should have no bearing on one's actions if it is NOT TRUE. As Gleno said previously, this nation and others have turned their backs on God and you have to look no further than the acceptance or rejection of the bible, God's Word and revelation to and for man himself.
