Mide, Although I use the ADX, the moving avgs. and the MACD, I've stated before that I am a signal jumper. If I see a stock going into a positive divergence or moving avg and ADX crossings getting close, I jump in. Sometimes I get whippsawed, but a lot of times I don't. Since all TA is lagging, jumping the signals gives me the benefit of being in the door at the very beginning of the run and maximizing profits. If I'm wrong, I exit with my head hung low.
MY last swing was an exit at 3.70 for a nice profit. I've waited since then to enter a new position. Nothing scientific about why I decided to enter this afternoon. I was looking for 2 straight days of stability. The last 2 days, after rush hour, GTE flatlined, therefore I felt that a bottom had been made and taking a position was safe. Also, market experience(my gut) told me that they would be buying into the close and into year end, with the possibility of Q4 guidance and the January effect, which GTE has participated heavily in 2004, 2005.
Lastly, did you have to delete my post congratulating myself. It'll be another 20 years before I call a turn like that, to the minute. LOL
