I have thought about asking by transaction attorney but I fear he would re-evaluate my intelligence on everything we have ever worked on.

I wasn't the one to propose the idea so I am not the one to prove it. I think it should naturally fall to someone who might have said they "had it confirmed." Notably, the language suggest they didn't confirm it themselves so it is second-hand information.
