Saturn, you took the words right out of my mouth. It's somehow benchmark shenanigans now to win with better compilers? Huh, someone better notify the last 20 years of computing.
It's also interesting to me that people have made this connection: Clovertrail+ loses to a quad core Exynos Octa with A15 micro-architecture, with a 2:1 core count disadvantage, and a 5 year old micro-architecture. And that somehow Bay Trail is suspect, even though it catches up in both these areas.
My guess is that the ARM FUD is ramping up in response to Intel's momentum. Windows RT is failing, and ruining ARM's inroads to the PC, there's still no traction from ARM in the server business, and now Intel is seeing improved prospects in phones and tablets. What is ARM and their cheerleaders to do, except look in the rear view mirror?
