Sell a 25 or 30 PUT to pay for a 30 call same month (Jan 14)

You do need the cash to actually buy it or own enough other securities to margin if needed.

Buying the $40 Call is just gambling. At least sell a $20 PUT to pay for it. Again nee the cash to buy just in case.
