While I was reading about how Dubya thinks Palin was a terrible unqualified running mate who made him lose all respect for McCain as a man, I was struck by his standard response to questions about his successor:
“I want my President to succeed because if my President succeeds my country succeeds, and I want my country to succeed,” Bush typically says when asked about Obama.
It’s actually a reasonable and unremarkable statement, although his refusal to say Obama’s name is kinda creepy and weird. And even though I consider George W. Bush to be the worst president of all time, I still believe that he does want America to be a strong and healthy nation. Now compare his perspective with Rush Limbaugh’s:
