I said nothing of the sort and certainly don't believe I support the status quo. I qualified my assumption and explained it well enough I think and gave you another possibility. Of course, nothing is absolute when it comes right down to it.....is that the level you're looking at it from? If so.... I agree. If not, then we're going to do what we always do..... describe, classify and catalogue based on some evidence. As I did say, if you don't want to believe that what appear to be human-like emotions, are indeed human-like, then at least we should try to find out if that's so. What are they?!

Are you doing that? It's not the impression I'm getting. Again, unless you're practicing Zen.......please explain what you mean by

Let's go into it......correct me if I'm wrong......before the animal example, you wondered if what we think of as certain emotions or feelings are really programmed in us and not natural. Before we get too much further. If I may, I'd like to know what we mean by "emotion" or "feeling"....and then ask are they real or how real are they?
