You made the debate that universities were not private and not conducting research w mmj- however they are? As you stated, the cost of research is extremely high, therefore universities (especially private w high tuition and endowments) are usually at the forefront for cutting edge research (ie harvard, duke, john hopkins,etc). They have the facilities, they have the time and they have the money. Please do not think for one minute glaxokline or other big pharm is not conducting the same research- they also have the facilities, time n money (headquarters isnt in a strip mall, mail isnt a pobox).

But that leads me to my last point, something else you mentioned- friend was off of savitex and on "self made" cannabis extracts. Thats the great thing about a natural plant, anyone can use it- do not need big pharm to bottle it for you. Something that can be grown in home, extracted in home and administered in home makes it less lucrative for big business- maybe why they arent pushing washington to legalize so they can profit- anyone can buy bubble bags and ice
