He'd have to go to one of my first few posts where I was pretty excited about neuromancer to find a change in my attitude. At least I've been consistent through the train wreck!

That post was probably around the time I started really trying to figure out how much shorting would cost/make - cause, hell, I've been trying to come up with a strategy for making money on this symbol. I've used it as a learning experience. I have some other posts about shorting - in short don't think it's worth it - I can't find any articles that suggest shorting penny stocks is a good idea.

Early on I was mostly trying to ask about the various SAPX projects and trying to get a feel for how people understood the business. i.e, "If winter queen sees a lot of money, what percentage will SAPX get after they share the profits with all of the other investors and production companies?" When that question was completely ignored, I became nervous about my investment. I think people at the time weren't aware that any profit would get divvied up. I made a little and got out. I got back in a bit later, lost a little and got out - that was about the time I realized the dilution game for what it was. I about broke even.

The whole DMX thing shook my confidence quite a bit - my wife (who is more hip than I) laughed and told me DMX was no reason to invest.

Writing this just made me realize how sad I am that neuromancer will never see the light of day.

If they really own the rights (I have no reason to think they don't) I wish they would sell it.

There's a video somewhere within the las few years where William Gibson (writer of the book) is doing an interview talking about how likely it is the movie will see the light of day - he seemed... skeptical and unwilling to say why.

Here's what I think about the movie: If SAPX is the only production company, neuromancer probably won't be great. To do it right I believe they would need a bunch of help and money. Would we trust SAPX with The Matrix or Blade Runner? (Two movies that show how awesome the cyberpunk genre can be). Needing money means they'd have more investors and SAPX would become a small percentage of the pie. Neuromancer, as much as I'd like to see it, stopped being a reason to invest - and then it became clear that common share holders were the suckers.
