yep. While I'm questioning the origin of emotions like that, I don't question their existence in humans. I have those same emotions and I be human... I think..

but why, what good are they if they're the reason we can be made slaves of.

Imagine the world if everyone was instilled with the exact same set of traits. Pick one and imagine it.

What if everyone was instilled with only a strong sense of right and wrong the letter of the law. No feeling of love or hate or anything else. None of the negative things that have happened would ever have gotten a chance to take root. There would be no bullshit tolerated for an instant. In fact, there would be no bullshit even attempted.

.. probably what it's like attending a catholic school ;)

the point is that the traits instilled in us are the ones the rulers WANT us to have so they can more easily control us. They have a hand in this is what I'm saying and I remain skeptical of the whole "process".
