On the "real" balance sheet they show $23.4 bil in unrestricted cash. Keep in mind other that they have day to day other things to spend that cash on. This relates to what I am asking - where does the funds come from to send UST $59.368 bil this weekend??
Looking at the real balance sheet you can see where the DTAs come back on for $49.738 bil, and then how it all falls to the bottom line is shareholder equity which the UST skims off all but $3 bil.
You can't write the UST a check for $59.368bil and basically say it is offset and will be a wash on the next qtr financials.
I could be wrong. It seems very logical to me. I am surprised nobody sees it that way too.
