I don't see why a settlement discussion should stop the judge from making a ruling on a motion that has been fully briefed. You would think either party would want to hear what the judge has to say since it could sway the talks in their favor.
I understand delaying a filing or court appearance. But at this point, post trial, it doesn't make any sense. This is just HJJ doing his thing (annoying the VRNG longs).
