I'm endlessly entertained by the idea that Crayola will fund the cost of shipping used markers to NF via Fedex on an ongoing basis.
The Sun Valley Elementary kids collected 33lbs of markers over the course of something more than a year.
If Fedex actually delivered that box of markers via their least expensive ground service the bill to Crayola would have been $46.45.
How many of those shipments do you think Crayola might be willing to pay for before they ask themselves "What have we done?" Do you think they'd be willing to spend half a million a year? That would be a ballpark 15,000 33lb. boxes of markers using the average Fedex charge for 33lb. shipments from San Rafael($46) and Chicago($22) to NF.
That gets about 500,000lbs of markers to the NF plant. Assuming 4,000lbs/hr of production and 75% uptime, that would keep one processor occupied for 7 days.
Is that something to get excited about? How many millions is it reasonable to expect Crayola to spend?
Now you've gone and done it!
