A Markman hearing is a one-day affair, yes.

However, judges can and do take time to issue their rulings on claim construction.

For those expecting the Markman to be a catalyst for WDDD: What is going to be the basis of the pop?

(1) The actual presentations put on by each side during the one day hearing?

OR

(2) the actual opinion and claims construction of the court that may take days, weeks, or even months to come out... and will potentially be a major influence to this case and provide all parties (including public observers) some clarity on the primary issues relating to the dispute?

For anyone discussing the Markman process, looking past the actual one-day time frame of the hearing and considering the actual delivery of the Markman Order is imperative.
