What did you think of Arnold`s rationale for denying Tookie Clemency? I thought part of it was hard core racist. If the AP report I read was accurate Arnold used as a reason to put Tookie to death was that in one of Tookies books in the dedication he listed a "Black Militant". HUH!? Martin Luther King was a "Black Militant". Malcom X was a Black Militant whose self education happened while he was in prison. I am not sure they come anymore Militant than Malcom X. Dedicating a book to a Black Militant is proof that someone sees "violence and lawlessness as a legitimate means to address societal problems"? Wow! I gotta wonder what Arnold`s intentions are with this statement.



In addition, the governor noted that Williams dedicated his 1998 book "Life in Prison" to a list of figures that included the black militant George Jackson — "a significant indicator that Williams is not reformed and that he still sees violence and lawlessness as a legitimate means to address societal problems."
