No reason to fear the truth, albeit ugly, as follows:

BTHR CEO, John Whitman:

John Whitman's guilty plea for the forgery charge was disclosed in the SEC filings but didn't see the worthless check guilty plea disclosed for the Company's CEO, John V. Whitman Jr.:

John V. Whitman Jr.: "Mr. Whitman entered a guilty plea for a violation of 18 US Code 157 arising from his forgery of an attorney’s signature to an attempted bankruptcy petition in Tampa, Florida for Day Spas of America. He paid a $1,500 fine and completed probation on December 29, 2008."

Looks like Whitman also plead guilty to worthless check in Pinellas County:
