Sigh... Here's yet another crown angle calculator (posted as an excel file online):

Pretty fancy, but it comes up with a whole different set of miters and bevels.

All that I've found so far match settings for a 90 degree wall somewhat, but they vary widely when you get to 135 degree wall angles.

It sure seems like there ought to be one true answer. I'm giving up for the time being.
