ET,

Why are you in such dismay? Our troops will be there occupying Iraq for an unspecified amount of time and although you may not think so, communication over a secure line is very important. All they have to do is put up some base stations and voila! Why do you think the military uses QCOM technology? I can tell you it's not just because they are American.

Also (and I think you are aware of this) QCOM traded up for GSM technology rights with TXN some time ago. QCOM has been combining those attributes with their current technology for a hybrid solution if you will, at least until everyone makes the CDMA switch to whatever flavor they choose. They offer dual-mode and tri-mode chipsets, no need for satellite once a build out occurs. Soon it will all be seamless...

It seems like a good thing for the USA to keep all of the business, lord knows our economy needs some kind of boost and we are taking on the brunt of the load over there. It's no skin off our noses if ALA, SI, NOK or ERICY doesn't get the contracts, so why not give it to QCOM, MOT, LU, etc.?

Happy Trading,
Bullwinkle
