I've got a blast cabinet and when I first got it, I used the heck out of it. Just looked for stuff around the garage I could blast then repaint. It's fantastic at making parts like-new and ready to have paint really stick to them.
I still haven't moved the big compressor down to my workshop, though. It's a big project. Have figured out where it's going to go and am ready to start running lines for it all over the building and enclose it and a couple of other noisy items (like the vacuum system) into a room just large enough to hold them.
The compressor's a beast. 6.5HP 80-gallon two-stage making 175 PSI. Can't remember what the CFM is on it. I think I remember it being right at or above 20 CFM at 90 PSI. Like you, I knew I needed major airflow for the blast cabinet.
